GroundSwell is an art collaboration I did with Micah Crandall-Bear from 2013 to present. It is a combination of my photographs and his acrylic paint styling. We started the project in early 2013 in the hopes of raising awareness of contaminated land and water resources in the Northern California area caused by years of pollution by local area companies. It turned into an observation about nature, the role we (as humans) play in it. GroundSwell is mostly in the hands of private investors and a few California galleries, as well as with a few international galleries and collectors.

Additionally, there was a soundtrack to accompany the art. I hired a large band ensemble (about 9 people) to record the album over the course of about 10 months. The band has recorded before, and goes by The Jazz Subversives. Each track corresponds to one of the images in the series. Not all images were shown to the public, but a soundtrack was still developed for those pieces. The record is available via 5ohm records by clicking here. It is also available via iTunes. An additional RMX record is coming out shortly.
Micah Crandall-Bear is a terrific fine art painter in his own right, you can find information about more about his art at http://www.micahcrandallbear.com.
