Skagit
[one_half]
Tulips for days. Also Daffodils. And people. So many people…I’m surprised the flowers are still standing with everyone trampling them. Tulips must be hella resilient. For those that don’t know, Skagit County is about an hour and a half north of Seattle, and in the month of April puts on a Tulip festival that attracts thousands of people. Kind of a big deal.

I used my Canon for these photos, and narrowed out depth of field by extending as far as I could. There were a lot of people, so it was difficult to keep subjects other than the flowers out of the shots. I got a few great shots of kids in the patch work, but don’t feel right showing their photos without permission. Nearly everyone ignored the Daffodils, which I felt were the star of the show, especially after the sun went down. Their soft petals and leafy stems looked great in the sunset light.
